Development Division
In
many parts of the world efforts to promote rural development
have undergone substantial changes in recent years. To make
them more effective government services aiming at the rural
sector are increasingly been decentralized and they are delivered
with strong participation of target groups and beneficiaries.
DMC’s rural Development unit supports this process
by providing its expertise and suitable tools (Management
information systems, Monitoring & Evaluation etc.) to
increase the efficiency of these decentralized authorities.
In many countries government agencies have withdrawn completely
form rendering services for which they were responsible so
far and left the field to the private sector, professional
bodies, non-government agencies and self-help organizations.
To create and to promote institutions which are geared to
the newly evolving needs is the challenge of rural development
of today. The unit of Rural Development with its multi-sectorial
approach is experienced and well equipped to assist in this
process. Its main role is to initiate and to moderate this
